The Falkuša is a tradition fishing boat from the Croatian island of Vis. A Falkuša was about 7 to 8m (26ft) in length, with a 3m (10ft) beam. Her low draft facilitated the boat to be beached when no harbor was available. Her relatively large lateen sail helped in traversing the large distances to the fishing grounds at speed. She received her name from two removable wooden strakes called falke, after which she received her name. The vessel could carry about eight tonnes of salted fish. The model is at a scale of 1:20 (27.7in/70.4cm)
